BELA is a full-service law firm, structured into four (4) main specialised partner-led departments. Kojo Bentsi-Enchill heads the Department, assisted by Seyram Dzikunu.

The Disputes Department handles civil litigation, alternative dispute resolution, regulatory investigations and white colour defence. The Department recognises that the demand for representation, dispute advice and risk management has changed significantly in recent years and the priority is to help clients best deal with potential challenges as they emerge. However, when litigation is inevitable, the team provides committed, fearless and assertive representation. The Department has significant experience and expertise in corporate litigation, telecommunication, mining, oil & gas, family law, employment and labour, land litigation, contract and debt recovery. Ace Anan Ankomah who is also the Managing Partner heads and manages the team with the assistance of Daad Akwesi, Golda Denyo and Gloria Cofie.

The Financial Services & Capital Markets Department, offers transactional and advisory services on legal and regulatory issues relating to banking, finance, insurance, mergers & acquisitions and capital market transactions and has developed a strong reputation for its work on high profile transactions in Ghana. The team is headed by Seth Asante with assistance from Frank Nimako Akowuah.

The Corporate & Commercial Department offers transactional and advisory legal services on business, industry, technology, media, telecommunications, pensions, employment and immigration. The Department has expertise and practical experience in structuring, negotiating and advising on transactions to clients in the key sectors of international trade, manufacturing, agribusiness, food & beverages, health & pharmaceuticals, hotels & hospitality and education. It provides support to electronic communication service and infrastructure providers, software and hardware developers, equipment manufacturers and suppliers, and broadcasting, advertising, publishing and digital media companies. It also advises on issues relating to the internet, e-commence, software, computers, entertainment, sports, marketing, advertising, gaming, privacy, data protection and intellectual property. It has extensive experience advising telecommunication companies in financing transactions to support their infrastructure acquisition and expansion. The Department also advises on employment law issues arising from mergers and acquisitions and other transactions, preparing employment and separation contracts, drafting employee handbooks, terminations, redundancies, employee share incentives, trade union consultations, non-litigation employment disputes and employment regulations.
